SpecPro and TerraHealth Win National Department of Defense Award
SpecPro, Inc. and TerraHealth Inc. (THI) were awarded the national DoD Nunn-Perry Award
for their achievements in the Mentor-Protégé (M-P) Program.
The team was also selected
to give a presentation titled "Elements of a Successful Agreement" during the March M-P
conference held in Orlando, FL. The annual award recognizes accomplishments for both
Mentor and Protégé companies that achieve cost efficiencies, enhance technical capabilities,
and increase small business opportunities for DoD prime contracts and subcontracts.

Mentors light the business path
In work, school and community organizations, one of the most effective ways
to get ahead is to team up with someone who's trod the path before - a mentor.
But many business owners ignore that road for fear of opening their books to
outsiders, asking competitors for help and, in some cases, sharing new business
leads.
However, Terra Health Inc. has found that working with mentor SpecPro Inc.
has helped it bound ahead of competitors, and the mentor has benefited as well.
The relationship was one of eight honored last month with the Department of
Defense's Nunn-Perry Award.

Local office of SpecPro lands another government contract
The San Antonio office of SpecPro Inc. has been awarded a contract with a ceiling of $15 billion from the General Services Administration (GSA) to provide information technology services to the federal government.
The contract is part of the GSA Small Business Governmentwide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) Center's new small-business set-aside program for technology solutions -- known as 8(a) Streamlined Technology Acquisition Resources for Services, or STARS.
SpecPro, a subsidiary of the Bristol Bay Native Corp. in Anchorage, Alaska, is a certified small disadvantaged business under the Small Business Administration's 8(a) Business Development Program.

AF institute awards $25 mil. contract at Brooks City-Base
The Air Force Institute for Occupational Health (AFIOH)at Brooks City-Base has awarded
the San Antonio office of SpecPro Inc. a $25 million contract to assist Air Force scientists in detecting
infectious diseases on the battlefield.The defense contractor will help the Air Force develop systems for
identifying a closely guarded list of infectious diseases within a matter of
minutes based upon their DNA signatures.

SpecPro wins major contract to digitize military documents
The local office of Vista Technoloties Inc. is undertaking a $2.7 million project to transfer millions of paper documents at Brooks Air Force Base to digital form.
The firm is working to transfer eight million sheets of paper and 36,000 X-rays at the base to digital form. The documents and X-rays are part of the federal government's ongoing study of soldiers who were exposed to Agent Orange During the Vietnam conflict
